THERAVĀDA BUDDHISM WORKSHOPS
YEAR-LONG WORKSHOPS DEDICATED TO THERAVĀDA BUDDHISM
THE SECOND WORKSHOP
“Right View – the foundation of the Noble Eightfold Path”
What the Workshops Are and Why They Exist?
We have recently launched a new project — the Theravāda Buddhism Workshops. The purpose of this initiative is to deepen knowledge of Theravāda Buddhism and to receive teachings directly from monastic and lay teachers. It is an excellent opportunity to gain new insights and learn how to practice skillfully on your own. We know that many of you wish to have more regular contact with the Saṅgha and to further your understanding of the Dhamma.
So far, we have had the privilege of hosting wonderful members of the Saṅgha from various parts of the world, for which we are deeply grateful! It was this experience that inspired us to meet more often and engage more intensively.
Open to All, Regardless of Meditation Experience
As we prepared for the workshops, we asked for your feedback — and the results truly surprised us! Everyone expressed interest in participating, with roughly half identifying as intermediate or advanced practitioners, and the other half as beginners (as they described themselves 🙂). We will therefore focus on deepening understanding of the Buddha’s teachings, expanding knowledge.
The theme of the 2026 workshop series is “Buddhist Practice for Laypeople.” The workshops will be held online, with the option to record some materials (we will not record participant interactions). Each workshop will span four days (two consecutive weekends), with two - four hours per day. The plan is to hold four workshops per year.
The guests will include lay teachers as well as representatives of the Australian and European Saṅgha.
Our first workshop has already taken place!
Workshops Open to All — Free Participation
In accordance with the tradition passed down by the Buddha, we do not charge for the teachings. For practitioners of generosity who wish to support similar initiatives and the visits of the Saṅgha to Poland, we will soon provide the option to make contributions to the PEBS account.
We also warmly invite you to support the Theravada Foundation.
Thanks to your kindness, the Dhamma can continue to be shared and nurtured.
The second workshop is ahead of us—we already know the teachers and the dates!
We are delighted to announce another event in the Theravāda Buddhism Workshop Series 2026.
Two exceptional weekend online meetings are coming up, led by experienced teachers.

Workshop Teachers
Venerable Vimala
From an early age they were interested in meditation, but did not come in contact with the Buddhist teachings until 2001. After meeting fully ordained nuns and Ajahn Brahm, they became interested in full ordination to support the Bhikkhunī lineage. They took higher ordination as a Bhikkhunī in Los Angeles in 2016.
Ven. Vimala joined theSuttaCentral.net team in 2013 and added many Sutta translations and parallels. Inspired by Bhante Sujato, they wrote articles on discrimination faced by women and LGBTIQA+ in Buddhist establishments.
They are founding members of Samita ASBL and Tilorien Monastery, supporting Bhikkhunīs, female monastics, LGBTIQA+ people, and other underrepresented groups.
She is also one of the main contributors to BuddhaNexus.net (now DharmaMitra.org).
Ajahn Sunyo
In 2013, after finishing University, Ajahn Sunyo moved to Bodhinyana Monastery in Australia to become a monk. He has a wide knowledge and expertise in the Pali language; accordingly, he has been teaching Pali at Bodhinyana Monastery.
In October 2020, he co-led a series of workshops on Early Buddhism—Dependent Origination—with Ajahn Brahmali, and more recently, The Gradual Training Workshop.
Ajahn Sunyo also visited Poland, where he conducted a retreat in Oddechowo. Ajahn touches the hearts of his listeners with his ability to explain the Dhamma in a clear and straightforward way.
This year Ajahn is starting a new hermitage in Australia, in the Margaret River area.
