Theravāda Buddhism Online Workshops 2026 with Ayyā Kārunikā

We are delighted to invite you to the next edition of our Theravāda Buddhism Workshops – a series of gatherings dedicated to deepening knowledge and practice based on authentic teachings transmitted by monastic and lay teachers.

The September meeting with Ayyā Kārunikā will be one of four workshops planned for this year.

First meeting of the group for women considering the monastic path

We are delighted to invite you to the first meeting of a newly forming group for women who feel called to deepen their practice and are considering — or just beginning to explore — the possibility of entering the monastic path.

This is a space for those who wish to deepen their understanding of the Buddha’s teachings, learn about the realities of monastic life, and, in a safe and supportive environment, reflect on their motivation and spiritual journey.

The group will be led by Ayya Karunika, an experienced Dhamma teacher associated with Santi Forest Monastery, where she has for years accompanied women from various countries on the monastic path. We are greatly honored that she has agreed to serve as a mentor for the Polish project of establishing a women’s monastery. This group will be one part of that project. In the future, other nuns may also join the meetings to share their experiences.

If you feel this space is for you, we warmly invite you to join for shared practice, reflection, and mutual support on this delicate yet profound path.

Online meeting with Ajahn Munissarā

We invite you to a special meeting with the Sangha — a chance to pause, take a breath, and deepen your practice together. Ajahn Munissarā will offer a Dhamma talk, sharing her experience and insight, inspiring mindful presence, reflection on daily life, and a sense of support within the community.

Ajahn Munissarā was born in 1978 in Manila, Philippines, into a Thai family. She grew up mainly in the Philippines and later lived in Bangladesh and the United States. From an early age, she was interested in the spiritual dimension of life, and her first experiences with Buddhism came through her mother, who introduced her to chanting and meditation.

During her studies at Harvard University, she deepened her search for answers to questions about the meaning of life and the nature of happiness, drawing particular inspiration from the teachings of Buddhadasa Bhikkhu. In 2009, she ordained as a sāmaṇerī (novice nun) at Nirodharam Bhikkhuni Arama in Chiang Mai, and in 2012 she received full bhikkhunī ordination at Dhammasara Nuns Monastery near Perth, Australia, where she currently lives and practices.

She regularly leads meditations and offers reflections on the Dhamma for lay practitioners, and has taught in Buddhist centers in Perth and Thailand, including monasteries, schools, and a prison. She is actively engaged in the development of the female Sangha, sharing the Dhamma and inspiring women on the spiritual path, and has also co-led programs and retreats for Buddhist youth at Chiang Mai University.
